Masterson’s Lounge, positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my most recent experience at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may look welcoming at first glance , what I encountered behind its entrance was disturbing and far below any standard .
The Condition of the Premises : Squalid and Abandoned
From the moment I entered , it was clear that sanitation was not a priority at this venue. The floors were sticky , and a pungent odor of decaying beverages and dirty bathrooms polluted the entire bar . Smelling a mixture of urine , decay and illness . The serving zone , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and trash that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The restroom was in even more deplorable shape — clogged , with a shattered handle and walls stained in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

Going through other patrons’ reviews and chatting with the community, it seems that the quality of upkeep (or lack thereof) at this bar is a recurring complaint. Many customers have reported seeing bugs darting across the drink station and signs of rats in the adjoining rooms. As I investigated further , I was appalled to find accusations against him involving misconduct , with multiple women accusing him of sending indecent material .
